A flange requirement includes more than dimensions. The material specification, inspection scope and records requested by the project are part of defining a complete order.

Documentation and testing requirements should be agreed before supply. Certificates, third-party inspection and sector-specific approvals are not assumed to be included unless confirmed for the order.

Review flange standards

Material identity & traceability: State the grade, product specification and certificate requirements. Identify any heat-number traceability or marking expectations in the purchase specification.
Dimensions & joint interfaces: Confirm the applicable standard and edition, flange type, bore, bolt pattern, facing and required finish. Drawing-based details need an approved revision.
Inspection & test scope: List the required checks, acceptance criteria and witness or hold points. Special testing and third-party involvement must be discussed before confirmation.
